Drawing inspiration from such works as Sub-Terrania, Ecco the Dolphin, The Abyss, and The Blue Planet, players will be able to take a deep dive into the ocean with Howling Hamster Entertainment’s 2.5D multidirectional shooter Sub-Species.
Taking control of a heavily armed submarine that can rotate in 360° degrees, Sub-Species will have players facing threats from every direction as they head deeper into contaminated zones filled with hostile creatures, collapsed structures, and unknown technology.
One can traverse the world of Sub-Species solo as part of its story-driven single player mode, or can alternatively experience its competitive local versus mode.

Creative Director Manus Burke said the following:
“The deep ocean is the closest thing we have to an alien world on Earth.
We wanted players to feel that tension, the beauty that pulls you in, and the fear that reminds you you’re not supposed to be there.”
