skate. Season 1 Details Revealed

Kicking off October 7 and running through December 2, learn more about Season 1 of EA and Full Circle’s skate.

Season 1 of skate. will include the following:

New Skateable Areas 

Players will be able to find seasonal decor at spots like The Orb and The Skateway, along with other new areas discoverable throughout San Van.

New Events

  • Skate-o-Ween (October 21 through November 11) – Skate-o-Ween in San Van is a lighthearted Halloween celebration, one  that’s less about the spook and more about getting a chuckle. On that note, players will be able to create an inventive costume and enjoy skating in a fun outfit.
  • 7-Ply Maple Harvest (November 18 through December 2) – The annual San Van 7-Ply Maple Harvest is a long-standing festival, one that celebrates the city’s unique maple trees. As it turns out, in the 70s skaters discovered that the trees’ wood were perfectly suited for skateboard construction. This community tradition is rooted in accomplishments, growth, and reflection.

New Challenges and Tasks

Season 1 of skate. brings 40 new Challenges that will rotate in and out weekly. 

Players will also be able to take on all-new daily, weekly, seasonal and event Tasks to earn Tix and unlock fresh rewards.

New Brand Partners and Soundtrack Additions

New brands are joining skate.’s in-game store, including NHS’s Santa Cruz, Independent, and Creature. 

Season 1 of skate. also brings 21 new songs with a 90s vibe – featuring tracks from Bad Religion, Dinosaur Jr., Ice Cube, and more.

Lightning Update and skate.Pass

Launching alongside Season 1 of skate. is the brand new Lighting Update and skate.Pass.

2.5D Roguelike Beat-’em-Up Roguelike Mexican Ninja Steam Demo Live

An action-packed 2.5D roguelike beat ’em up, players will be able to slice, kick, and flip through the streets of Nuevo Tokyo with the new Steam demo of Mad Bricks and Amber Studios’ Mexican Ninja.

Set in Nuevo-Tokyo – a world where Japan and Mexico collided in fire, power and betrayal – Mexican Ninja will have players unlocking Spirit Animal paths, unleashing Mexican Jutsus, and customizing their fighting style through “The Way of the Donkey.”

“Mexican Ninja was born from our love of old-school beat em ups, then layered with the replayable bite of roguelikes. 

It’s Mexico meeting Japan: lucha bravado, bilingual slang, and irreverence colliding with feudal drama and Yakuza steel.

We built combat to feel fast, satisfying, and skill-based, and we let the comedy live inside the fight. 

That’s our philosophy: keep you on your toes, then make you grin with style, swagger, and huevos.”

One can check out the Mexican Ninja demo and wishlist the title via its official Steam page. Said demo will drop players in the spark of the uprising, a first strike against the Narkuzas’ grip on Nuevo Tokyo. 

Note that the full release of Mexican Ninja is slated for the PC via Steam in Spring of 2026.

Sac Gamers Expo 2025 Welcomes Host A.J. Kirsch

This is Real! 

Acclaimed MC, hype man, presenter, and announcer A.J. Kirsch will be the official host of Sac Gamers Expo 2025 this December.

When it comes to the world of gaming, A.J. Kirsch did the motion-capture and lent his voice for the main character “Buzz” in WWE2K19’s MyCAREER mode. His voice can also be heard in WWE 2K25 and Mafia: Definitive Edition!

A.J. Kirsch also won Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s “Rock the Promo” competition, also making it to the final four contestants in the reality show “WWE Tough Enough.” 

Previously serving as host and PA announcer at both StocktonCon and Fire & Ice RGX, he also kills it as the in-game host for the Savannah Bananas!

Pokemon Legends Z-A Pokemon GO Event Beginning October 16

Lumiose City awaits players with the release of Pokemon Legends: Z-A later this month – gear up for this release in Niantic’s Pokémon GO with a special event kicking off October 16.

Starting October 16 at 10am and running through October 20 at 8pm (local time), Mega Raids will appear more often in Pokémon GO in celebration of Pokemon Legends: Z-A’s Nintendo Switch launch.

In addition, Pokemon GO players will be able to take advantage of free event-exclusive Timed Research, complete with branching tasks! 

Those that complete the research tasks can earn themselves XP, Candy, a Poffin, and encounters with either Chikorita, Totodile, or Tepig with a Seasonal Special Background. 

One might even find a Shiny variation of this trio!

Do note that the first partner Pokemon one chooses will then have an increased chance to be attracted to Daily Adventure Incense.

On that same note, Timed Research in Pokemon GO has an expiry time. That being said, tasks associated with Timed Research must be completed, and their rewards must be claimed before the Timed Research ends.
