Celebrating the release of the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration, all those that dive into Pokémon GO can take advantage of Mega Raids and Timed Research at select retail locations.

As part of this Pokémon GO event, Trainers have a higher chance of encountering Mega Gengar in Mega Raids at select retail locations. Note that one can also encounter a Shiny Gengar!

Trainers can take advantage of event-themed Timed Research by going to one of the select retail locations and opening Pokémon GO. Those that complete research tasks can earn themselves Poké Balls and encounters with event-themed Pokémon.

Note that those that obtain the Timed Research, the associated tasks must be completed and rewards must be claimed by November 20.

Finally, through October 31 Trainers can redeem a Pokémon GO gift card from Best Buy, GameStop, or Target (online or at participating stores) to receive the Gengar Knit Cap avatar item upon redemption via its official website.

Note that Trainers that already own the Gengar Knit Cap will receive an alternate item of equal value.

Note that the special event Timed Research and Mega Raids will be available through October 20, while the Avatar Item redemption incentive will be available through October 31.
