Apex Legends: Marked Preview – The Original Blood Sport Returns!
Blessed by the Allfather and armed with a number of new powers, Apex Legends: Marked turns the iconic Bloodhound into a lethal hunter.
Bloodhound’s improved passive has enemies leave a glowing trail as they move, with White Ravens flying farther and activated simply by looking at them.
In addition, Bloodhound’s Tactical has been reworked in Apex Legends: Marked, delivering longer full-body scans that are then followed by timed snapshot scans.
Finally, Bloodhound’s new Allfather’s Cloak Ultimate can be thrown down to cloak any Legend within range, granting bonus movement speed and threat vision when hidden.
Speaking to Bloodhound, Senior Technical Designer Devin Weise said the following:
“The goal for Bloodhound was to truly make you feel like a terrifying hunter.
Their old playstyle was often passive and relied on your allies to create openings. With better tracking capabilities and the new Allfather’s Cloak ultimate, Bloodhound now has the tools to quickly analyze the battlefield and aggressively push when they find a weakness.
And the moment an enemy squad thinks they’ve got you cornered, the next moment they’re looking at dust with 3 guns pointed at them from the dark.
Bloodhound players should now feel empowered to lead their pack from the front as they move toward victory.”
Both Loba and Rampart will also receive updates in Apex Legends: Marked:
- Loba features a reduced cooldown for her Black Market Ultimate, with her Tactical now moving faster and covering more ground for a cleaner way out
- Meanwhile, Rampart can now move faster when firing Sheila, providing more mobile firepower. In addition, her Amped Walls can now build faster and take more damage, with her able to progress locked hopups much faster.
Finally, Apex Legends: Marked makes some changes to World’s Edge. Old-god aesthetics, new and updated POIs, and an aurora borealis have all been added.
Players will be able to lead the hunt with a more lethal Bloodhound when Apex Legends: Marked sets its sights for its August 4 launch.
