Anime Expo 2026 Concludes 35th Edition

North America’s largest celebration of Japanese pop culture, Anime Expo 2026 has officially concluded its 35th anniversary in Downtown Los Angeles.

Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center, Anime Expo 2026 also occupied surrounding venues that included the Crypto.com Arena, The Novo, Peacock Place, L.A. LIVE, and even Figueroa Street.

Organized by The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), Anime Expo 2026 was a four-day, sold-out convention that saw more than 422,000 fans from more than 65 countries in attendance.

Anime Expo 2026 also delivered an estimated economic impact of more than $115 million to local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.

Ray Chiang, CEO of SPJA, said the following:

“It’s been a privilege to see Anime Expo continue to inspire and bring together a wonderful community of talented artists, creatives and fans in Los Angeles.

We are very honored to spotlight and uplift the talent behind Japanese animation and pop culture for the past 35 years, and we look forward to doing so for years to come.”

Anime Expo will return to the Los Angeles Convention Center from July 2-5, 2027, with credentials for Anime Expo 2027 going on sale in early 2027.
