DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY Preview – Familiar Heroes Reunite in Modern Tokyo!
A celebration of all things Final Fantasy, DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY transports series icons like Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud Strife to the real life locale of modern-day Tokyo.
On that note, each playable character in DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY embodies a different role. All characters will – quite literally – tap into its circle-based attack system, with idle attacks also available when not moving.
For those looking to bring the Firaga, a number of special abilities with cooldown are also available – also quite literally – at one’s fingertips.
Of course, Final Fantasy prides itself on its roles – and everybody’s got a role to play in DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY.
The aforementioned Cloud Strife serves as a well-rounded Melee fighter, while Final Fantasy VI Esper Terra Branford (our initial pick) embodies a ranged role that is able to target enemies from far.
Of course, all Heroes need a good to vanquish.
Thankfully, DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY provides just the opportunity with three-on-three battles filled with familiar baddies and a towering boss waiting to be toppled.
Don’t think you can just waltz up to that Bahamut and one-shot that baddie.
That requires Bravery – quite literally, in fact!
DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY Bravery system requires players to amass this currency before taking on the big bad. Players can accumulate this from taking on smaller foes, rivals, and Monster Crystals before accumulating those blessed 9,999 digits that’ll make any fan smile.
Once in DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY’s Bravery Mode, the teamwork and timing of this title comes into play. Taking down the boss is great, sure, but it’s crucial that one’s party does so before the rival team does.
As one would expect, this leads to heated moments, one where it is important to be mindful of friends and foes alike.
Also true to series form, DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY features a polished main experience. Not only is the main story fully voiced main story in Japanese, players will also be able to tap into the in-game Pine social media app to mingle with friends and take part in Season Ranked Battles.
Even DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY’s presentation is dressed to impressed, featuring a 3D rendered cel-shaded look with designs supervised by Tetsuya Nomura!
A Brave direction for the series, DISSIDIA DUELLUM FINAL FANTASY’s 3v3 team-based bouts in modern-day Tokyo encourage timing, teamwork, and tons of damage.
