Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 Happening January 4-10

A week-long speedrunning charity event, Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) 2026 is happening from January 4 to January 10.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 will be held throughout the week at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown in Pittsburgh, PA.

Awesome Games Done Quick 2026 will be held in support of the nonprofit Prevent Cancer Foundation, which is dedicated to empowering people to stay ahead of cancer through prevention and early detection.

Crossword Puzzle Adventure Rita Cozy Quest Showcase Trailer Released

Shown off during Secret Mode’s Cozy Quest Showcase, SporkTank has released a new trailer for their cozy adventure that showcases its new characters and puzzles.

Setting out to provide a cozy adventure, Rita features a little chicklet that tasks players with solving word-based puzzles to transform her surrounding world. Light MetroidVania mechanics will come into play, along with bite-sized puzzles.

Along the way, players will be able to follow her story across generations, meet her grandchicklet, and be a part of her grand legacy.

Neon Inferno Review – Welcome to the Family

A city beyond salvation is just waiting to be cleansed with Zenovia Interactive and Retroware’s 2D run-and-gun/gallery shooter bonanza Neon Inferno.

The development team previously struck gold with Steel Assault – does lightning strike twice with this release?

Neon Inferno Review

Set in the new year of 2055, Neon Inferno follows the civic duty of Family members Angelo Morano and Mariana Vitti as they blast away at anything – and everything – that stands in their way in an NYC gone wrong.

Double jumps, a dodge with i-Frames, and a melee move that comes in clutch all proudly showcase Neon Inferno’s tight control scheme.

No need to make it a solo affair, however (unless you want to) – Neon Inferno’s two-player couch co-op proves to be twice as nice as one shares the love/nogoodniks.

Those Yakuza members, corrupt NYPD, and epic rooftop bouts against giant mechs with freakin’ laser beams never stood a chance.

Even if they do have multiple phases…

Besides, Neon Inferno’s massive explosions and endless screams of defeat never get old amidst its speedy pace. One can also hit up GunSlingers to cop weapons and gear before meeting with the Don to make one’s play style truly their own.

While quick glances of Neon Inferno might proudly showcase its 2D run-and-gun roots, that only proves to be half the battle.

Sure, Neon Inferno’s hyper-detailed 32-bit stylings certainly channel genre greats like Contra and Metal Slug – a true badge of honor!

Whether one is jumping between hovering cars in a frantic auto-scrolling scramble, blasting through the smoke of a happening rave, or deflecting bullets via its “Bullet Time” mechanic (remember: green is good!), Neon Inferno is old-school cool.

However, Neon Inferno spices things up with gallery shooter elements that have players firing into the background as well – see below for an example against the deadly Dynamo (a miniboss if you can believe it)…

For those that grew up in the Wild West of Wild Guns, Neon Inferno takes Natsume’s formula and blesses its cyberpunk world with this added mechanic.

While Neon Inferno’s gallery shooter elements lock players into terra firma and add some complexity to proceedings, those that learn this refreshing mechanic are handsomely rewarded high end-of-stage rankings.

Want to flex even more?

Also challenging the greats, Neon Inferno lets players test their might with its Arcade Mode. Available from the offset (no quarters needed!), do be warned that one’s death is truly the end.

Too daunting of a proposal?

Don’t sweat it – Neon Inferno also features multiple difficulty levels (in Novice, Medium, and Hard flavors), alongside a Replay Mode that lets players perfect their craft. 

All about that one credit clear and bragging rights, after all…

Arcade legends who cut their teeth on run-and-gun greats shouldn’t hesitate to join the Family for Neon Inferno’s new-school, old-school thrills.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC Review

The final story DLC for Warhorse Studio and Deep Silver’s Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, the new Mysteria Ecclesiae expansion continues Henry’s journey as players uncover the mysteries of the church (we know some Latin…).

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Mysteria Ecclesiae DLC Review

Mysteria Eccleasiae kicks off with the Royal Physician looking for help at a local monastery.

A new disease is ravaging its citizens, with Henry recruited to help find the cause.

Upon arrival, there is a fear that the Black Death is creeping into the area.

After investigation, something doesn’t quite seem right…but it definitely isn’t the plague.

Before you even get a chance to figure out where the disease originates, more deaths happen and more sickness spreads.

The Monastery is then put in lockdown – no one can enter or leave. With Henry locked in to help the sick, it’s a race against the clock to save those you can – all while also not falling ill across its approximately six to eight hour runtime.

How safe is it to be working around this illness anyway?

New to Mysteria Ecclesiae is a plague doctor mask-like hood. Players can craft a mask and stuff it with herbs that keep the air clean.

Do be warned that sickness can occur if there’s too much messing around – best to avoid that.

On top of catching this disease, all of Henry’s weapons are taken at the offset of Mysteria Ecclesiae.

During the quarantine, players will have to sneak around the knights patrolling the area, as leaving the infirmary is off-limits.

As someone who often complains about stealth sections, this proved to be pretty easy. Sneak was a 9 upon arrival, and I avoided capture by the knights. One could very likely kill a knight with an arm yourself – but why would you?

Even with everything else happening, Mysteria Ecclesiae features plenty of side quests. Upon arrival, people have plenty of tasks for Henry to do. Many quests provide good background to the area and the time period.

One side quest in Mysteria Ecclesiae even features crayfish hunting!

Needless to say, there is plenty of variety in the quests.

While Mysteria Ecclesiae’s new map isn’t massive, but it still very detailed nonetheless.

The inside of the church is huge – complete with a crypt! – along with a large courtyard ripe for exploration.

The whole area is lore-heavy, with books and scrolls to read. The gardens themselves also full of all sorts of flowers.

If you’ve ever wondered what a medieval monastery from the 1400s would be like, this is as close as you’ll get.

It’s also NOTHING like the annoying monastery mission from the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance – Mysteria Ecclesiae is a noticeable improvement.

Mysteria Ecclesiae’s one major knock is that there’s very little combat, focusing more on its story elements.

Whether one is a fan of medieval mysteries or just looking for more Henry exploits, Mysteria Ecclesiae and its secrets of the church provide another great adventure.

Narrative Isometric RPG Rue Valley Now Available

A narrative journey of self-discovery and resilience awaits with the release of Emotion Spark Studio and Owlcat Games’ isometric RPG Rue Valley for PC and consoles.

Following the story of a man caught in a time loop, Rue Valley features a world where each reset changes not only what this character can do, but also who he will become. 

On that note, Rue Valley lets players carry memories across loops as they unlock new dialogue, mindsets, and ways to interact with the strange world around the titular Rue Valley.
