TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno Preview

Faithfully capturing the world of the popular TOUGEN ANKI anime, Oni meets Momotaro in Com2uS’ TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno.

Gamers Heroes recently spoke with the TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno development team after their successful Tokyo Game Show 2025 appearance regarding this upcoming turn-based RPG – learn more with our preview.

TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno Preview

Based on Yura Urushibara’s popular Tougen Anki: Legend of the Cursed Blood, the amount of detail being brought to TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno looks to do the series justice.

Yet to check out this anime series’ dark fantasy world (there’s still time to catch up on Crunchyroll…)?

TOUGEN ANKI’s over-the-top fight sequences between the Momotaro and the Oni have amassed countless viewers since the anime’s summer debut – we’re talking #1 on Netflix Japan and top five globally!

TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno – and its skill effects – have been faithfully recreated to match each original characters’ actions.

While depicting blood arts and fog can lead to swaths of red and black, the development team is setting out to make TOUGEN ANKI Crimson Inferno’s 3D combat stand out and truly impress.

TOUGEN ANKI Crimson Inferno Preview - Gamers Heroes

On that same note, TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno’s turn-based combat channels the best elements from the genre. Tasking players with collecting characters, each one packs their own unique abilities. From there, players will be able to form their ideal team and build winning strategies.

TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno is also set to feature the anime’s voice acting talent, adding to its immersion. We have tremendous respect for voice actors – we’ve said as much in our suite of interviews!

The development team even had the voice actors from the TOUGEN ANKI anime series make an appearance at the recent Tokyo Game Show!

On that note, we had to ask the TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno development team who their favorite characters from the series were.

Their responses? Jin Kougasaki and teacher Naito Mudano!

Fine choices – nothing wrong with tsundere.

True to series form, TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno is taking the steps needed to properly channel the spirit of this worldwide phenomenon.

TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno can now be wishlisted via its official Steam page, and will also come out for mobile devices.

TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno will also feature cross-platform support!

Feeling social? Make sure to follow the official TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno Twitter/X and YouTube social media channels.

Thank you to both PR and the TOUGEN ANKI: Crimson Inferno development team for their time!
