8-Bit Musical Adventure Echoes of the Unread Inaugural Dev Blog Released

Looking to learn more about Clever Cat Games and Mega Cat Studios’ 8-bit musical adventure Echoes of the Unread? The man behind the pages Matt Tuttle tells all in the first dev blog for the title.

In this inaugural developer blog, Matt Tuttle is all too keen to take players on a chaotic and heartfelt behind-the-scenes journey through the making of this hotly anticipated NES game.

Covering Matt Tuttle’s journey ROM-hacking Super Mario Bros. to building an original MetroidVania-inspired adventure from scratch, this Echoes of the Unread video is all too keen to share the ups, downs, and learning curves of indie development.

Co-Op Platformer Bread & Fred Now Available for GOG and Epic Games Store

Cute, co-op chaos awaits players with the release of Infogrames and Sand Castles Studios’ co-op platformer Bread & Fred for both GOG and the Epic Games Store.

Featuring a dynamic duo of penguins, Bread & Fred’s co-op platforming action will have players climbing to the top of a snowy mountain. 

Along the way, players will attempt to steer the titular penguin pals Bread and Fred through an exasperating – and admittedly maddening climb – where jump precision is an absolute must.

Note that Bread & Fred is also available for the Nintendo Switch and Steam.

2D Animated MetroidVania Fallen Tear: The Ascension Announced

Making its debut at today’s OTK Games Expo, Winter Crew, CMD Studios, and Holysoft Studios’ handcrafted 2D MetroidVania Fallen Tear: The Ascension has been announced.

Blending together 2D MetroidVania exploration with JRPG elements, Fallen Tear: The Ascension sets out to provide fast-paced combat, platforming challenges, and a rich story set in a mystical world.

Chris Farren Special Guest at Fire & Ice RGX 2025

Known for his indie rock pop sound and multiple sold-out tours, Chris Farren will be a Special Musical Guest at this summer’s Fire & Ice RGX 2025 event.

An American musician, Chris Farren kicked things off in 2016 with his debut solo album Can’t Die. 

Later, in 2018 and 2020, Chris Farren composed music for two episodes of Cartoon Network’s animated series Craig of the Creek alongside show composer – and Chris Farren’s frequent collaborator – Jeff Rosenstock.

After his solo album Born Hot released in 2019, Chris Farren announced The Born Hot Tour. As his first headline tour as a solo musician, the tour ran to February 2020 and concluded with a sold out concert in Los Angeles. 

Chris Farren has also released two more studio albums since then (Death Don’t Wait ‘2022’ & Doom Singer ‘2023’) and has had multiple sold out tours as well.
