Tim Lamb, Lead Creative Producer at Bethesda Game Studios, said the following:

“It’s weird to think that it’s been 20 years since we first worked on Oblivion.

When I look at Oblivion – the original and now with the Remaster – there’s an authenticity to it. A purity.

This game laid the framework for everything we’ve done since 2005. I see everything we’ve improved over the years. So, I feel the 20 years, but it also feels like the blink of an eye.”

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is available for the Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Game Pass, PlayStation 5 and PC.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Review – Let’s Take This Up a Gear

Certainly, it existed – players can pack their bags for South Town once more with the long-awaited release of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

Should players throw down, or is The King of Fighters still the king of fighters?

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves Review – Let’s Take This Up a Gear

SNK fighters – especially the Fatal Fury line – are truly special in the fighting game community.

Sure, one will still be utilizing a light punch, light kick, heavy punch, and heavy kick, but Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves plays by its own rules – short hops and all.

One of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves’ unique hooks comes in the form of its REV system, which puts players squarely on the offensive. Fighters can also pull off REV Blows that eat attacks – just the thing for the bold among us. There are also REV Arts and REV Accel mechanics that are meter-dependent that can be then used further in combos.

When put into practice, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves really makes those “Wild Punish” gestures count. Reading one’s opponent, finding that opening, and dishing out REV attacks channels the best elements of fighting games!

There is a special REV Guard that can come in a pinch, along with a Just Defense that Garou: Mark of the Wolves fans will no doubt be familiar with. However, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is certainly not a game where one can turtle and be static – always be closing!

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves also features a truly fresh cast. Returning faces like the bird-brained wrestler Tizoc (below), newcomers like Preecha with the kicks for science, and the wacky antics of the one and only DJ Salvatore Ganacci add so much life.

Put simply, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves is truly one-of-a-kind!

Still pretty new to fighters? Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves eases the barrier of entry with its “Smart Style” setup, as opposed to the more traditional “Arcade Style” controls commonly found in fighters on platforms like the Neo-Geo MVS. While some may feel this makes things too easy, bread and butter combos and mind games will always help players come out on top.

Thankfully, players will have plenty of chances to test their might (wait, wrong game…) in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves.

While Arcade Mode is a tried-and-true favorite, one of the main single player modes of Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves comes with “Episodes of South Town.”

True to its name, players will beat down in South Town as they level up their character with Quests, equip Boosts, and round things out with the occasional minigame (so many beer bottles smashed…).

While a bit repetitive, we did love Episodes of South Town’s EXP system, and levels do come quickly for each character.

When it comes to online play, Ranked Match, Casual Match, and Room Match are all present and accounted for in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, complete with crossplay and rollback – god bless the ring.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has got that dog (or is it wolf?) in it, bringing depth, originality, and countless ways to throw down in South Town.
